White-knuckled driving is a thing of the past with the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. The nitrogen-charged tandem gas spring applies full force right when it’s needed, keeping the steering centered and steady. Instead of waiting for movement to happen and then reacting, this system prevents wandering before it starts. The result is smoother tracking through crosswinds, ruts, and uneven pavement so you can stay relaxed behind the wheel.

Strong gusts or deep grooves in the road can toss a heavy rig around. This stabilizer steps in to keep things under control with a proactive design that resists movement from the start. It keeps the front end pointed straight, minimizing lane wander and rut tracking. The steering feels more precise and predictable, so driving through wind or passing large vehicles takes less work and worry.

Installation doesn’t require drilling or welding. The Exact Center mounts cleanly using the factory axle bracket holes on one end and the tie rod location on the other. Custom-fit brackets come included for a solid connection. The setup goes on with basic tools, giving you a tight, dependable fit that’s ready to hit the road.
Designed to handle the miles, the stabilizer uses heavy-duty stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance. Each spring measures 32" from center of bushing to center of bushing and supports vehicles up to a 22,000-lb maximum GVWR. It’s a tough, reliable piece of gear that keeps your steering sharp and your drive steady year after year.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Roadmaster Exact Center steering stabilizer with custom brackets for class A motorhomes. Now, this product fits the 2003 to 2009 Chevrolet Kodiak 4500 and 5500, and the 2003 to 2009 GMC TopKick 4500 and 5500. To confirm if this is going to work for your application, take advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com, and input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will let you know if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. This gas spring steering stabilizer is gonna give your motorhome a responsive steering experience that is gonna keep your rig from wandering.
This works better than other steering stabilizers because it's always working to prevent unwanted movement. It's going to help keep your RV centered, taking the fight out of the steering and maintain control of your RV during crosswinds, rut tracking, and road edging. The nitrogen-charged tandem gas spring has a gross vehicle weight rating of 22,000 pounds. And it is going to go apply full force right when you need it, preventing unwanted movement rather than just correcting it after it's already begun. No drilling or welding is needed for installation.
It uses the factory axle bracket holes on one end and tie rod location on the other. And this includes custom mounting brackets that we've already been looking at here together. It is important to note that worn steering components should be addressed before installing this kit. This is made in the USA of heavy-duty stainless steel construction. And let me retrieve my tape measure here and just give you the spring length.
And measuring center of bushing to center of bushing as you can see, we are sitting right at 32 inches long. This does have a limited lifetime warranty. And instructions are included to help you through the installation process. And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you.
Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

Very surprised at how much it help improve the swaying when driving in heavy winds and with large Vehicles passing you. Would recommend anyone
Hey RV'rs.... I upgraded from the Roadmaster stabilizer and the difference was phenomenal... Prince Edward county to Key West with minimal steering correcting
This is one of the greatest additions to a Motorhome. I had purchased a new motorhome the day before a trip so I hadn't had time to install the stabilizer. After a 1000 mile trip fighting the wheel I had a chance to install it before the return trip. It was easy to install with the tool I had brought while at the campground and made the trip back much easier.
Fast reliable company
Easy install and it makes an amazing difference. etrailer has great video tutorial on this. I installed on a Newmar Baystar that was difficult to drive, and made a night and day difference. Took maybe 4 hours including test drives. Be sure to drive before and find the center point on the steering wheel. I hit it the first time so no adjustment needed afterwards. But if needed, the fine adjustments are easy on this compared to the SafeTPlus in was considering.
Do not like how it handles with the center steer
Speaking for myself, and in all honesty from my opinion and with experience using Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. Driving with the ECSS, I’ve found it will be useful on my Jeep being towed. I have several thousand miles on my Jeep, and found city driving okay, but steering you must keep your hands on the wheel. This also goes even more so on the highway. Just returned from a long trip out west to Yellowstone NP, towing a very small camper, and it was very difficult at times when driving only 65-70 mph, with special focus when on the highway when the highway makes direction turns, and really white knuckle both hands on wheel when the road isn’t smooth. As it turns out, on July 2, 2025, I removed the ECSS, and replaced with a normal steering stabilizer, and realize it’s much better, both city and highway driving. I also realize I shot over $400 on something I believed would work better, and I was wrong. The ECSS, may be good when your vehicle is towed, maybe even better on a smooth race track, but on my Jeep, it’s actually unsafe in my opinion and from my experience. I’m thinking more testing is needed, along with additional engineering with adjustments before I would spend that kind of money and knowing it will work first before wasting my money again. Long story short, I had focus on my driving the entire 4000 miles practically with white knuckles way too much, and because of this I missed most of the scenery with is the first time almost thats ever happened. Only bad weather did that before, and a damaged tie rod. I would not recommend the product to anyone, with the exceptions mentioned above. It’s not worth the amount I had to pay, and a mistake buying it. Hopefully you’re honest enough to accept my honesty and truth as I have experienced.
Regards,
Steve
This it the second Roadmaster stabilizer I have purchased from Etrailer. Other was for our older 2011 motorhome and after having it I did not want to drive without 1. This is different than prior unit- big factor is so much lighter and easy to adjust, so far working perfectly…
I stopped short of 5 stars because the instructions could be a lot clearer.
This is absolutely a must for anyone with a Class A gas motorhome and fighting the steering. Steering feels tighter and self-centers quickly. Makes driving my 35' RV much easier and a LOT less fighting with steering when passing big rigs or in wind.
I installed the exact center myself. It took me about an hour due to a couple rusty bolts. Test Robin on some side roads and the main road today and I love it. Keeps me on the lane. I don’t have to play the wheel back-and-forth constantly. It doesn’t pop back to center as quuck as I thought it would, but maybe I just gotta get used to it. Definitely an improvement for a long trip.
The motorhome drives so much easier now. I would recommend this if your on the fence.
This has improved the steering significantly for our 2021 Jayco Redhawk 25R! It's almost incredible how much better it is. Can now hold the steering with one hand and does not pull in one direction. Huge improvement!
Supper easy install takes about 1 1/2 hours and most definitely made a difference in the steering input and holding the road is definitely improved.
I will have to wait until next year to install the stabilizer. I had to have the kingpins replaced in the Ford front end at 13,500 miles because parts were left out at the factory. We were not able to use the motorhome much this year.
Made a world of difference. Installed on a Class C RV and was a marked improvement over the anemic OEM “steering stabilizer.” Very little adjustment required.
Super easy install on a 2019 Leprechaun 319MB ,Class C RV. Hardest part was taking off the old hardware. Followed the instructions and test drove at 60mph and it drove totally straight and did not have to make any micro adjustments. A very well made product.
I had the road master exact center steering stabilizer installed on my RV and tried it out and it was perfect driving and maintaining position on the road way with out drifting. Although my tow vehicle was not connected I thought it felt good without out it a believe it will be fine.
We installed the Roadmaster steering stabilizer on our 2018 Thor Chateau 24F motorhome. The drifting issue we'd experienced was significantly improved making driving easier and less stressful.
Great product! My installer Martins Auto Tech did a fantastic job!!! Jeff Martin the owner took the extra time to make sure everything was aligned correctly and took the time to explain why he liked the product we chose from etrailer! If i ever needed or will need any work done to my RV. I would use etrailer and Jeff Martins Auto Tech in Hollywood Maryland! Btw your source page led us to Martins Auto Tech with great reviews! Thank you again!
This one of the best if not the best exact center steering stabilizer on the market. Steering my 38 foot class A gas motorhome is simply a breeze. I use to fight my steering wheel to keep my motorhome straight on every type of road. I use to brace and prepare to input multiple steering corrections whenever a Semi truck was about to pass me. With my exact center steering stabilizer installed plus the addition of air bags (front and rear) driving my motorhome is now as easy as driving my F-150 super duty. The exact center steering stabilizer alone improved all of the white knuckle constant steering adjustments i was experiencing. The air bags prevent the side to side movements from cross winds and when a Semi truck passes my motorhome. The vast improvement is the same with or without the toad. This was by far the most cost effective, easily installed, and immediate improvement I have made to my 2015 Coachmen Encounter 37LS Motorhome.
First road trip with our new Integra Odyssey from New York to Key West. It was a nightmare driving this thing down south! Ordered this Roadmaster and had it shipped to my friend's house in Florida. We installed it in about an hour and it is a night and day difference. Sway is almost completely gone and you can let go of the wheel and it stays centered. No more white knuckle driving!
Item arrived quickly the video on the site actually helped with the installation and it was very simple, installation is on a 2023 Nexus Wraith 34w on the international MV 670 chassis
The Exact Center Stabilizer itself is very good. The bracket that was sent only worked on one side of vehicle. Instruction say it is universal for either side mounting. That is incorrect for the kit I received. The stabilizer itself would have fit better on my 2022 F53 if it were about 2 inches longer.
You feel an immediate difference while driving at highway speeds. Amazing addition that is reliable, safe, and a go to for serious RVers.
